This stock medical exhibit illustrates an aortic valve deformity and replacement. First, the normal anatomy of the valve is shown in a superior view along with an anterior cut-away view to relate the location of the valve within the heart. Next, the deformity is depicted in the form of bacterial endocarditis and fused right and left cusps. Finally, the surgical replacement can been seen. Labels clearly indicate the right coronary cusp, left coronary cusp, posterior noncoronary cusp, left ventricle, bacterial endocarditis, fused right and left coronary cusps, and prosthetic replacement valve.
