Post-accident Internal Derangement of Right Knee - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This stock medical exhibit depicts the derangement of a knee. It consists of seven images. The first graphic shows a film of the knee. The second illustration shows the normal anatomy of the knee. The third image shows the pre-operative condition of the knee. In particular, synovitis, adhesions, articular injury of the femur, a meniscal tear and laxity of the anterior cruciate ligament are all depicted. The fourth image shows the insertion of instruments into the knee in the first step of the procedure. The fifth image shows the second step of the procedure, where chondroplasty is performed on the area of articular injury. The sixth image shows the next step in the procedure which is the debridement of the meniscus. The final image shows the application of heat to shrink the anterior cruciate ligament.
