ID: exh66531
This stock medical exhibit depicts head injuries in an infant resulting from vacuum extraction at birth. The first image is a lateral view of the head and upper torso of the infant, with cephalohematoma and nondisplaced skull fracture visible beneath the skin. The remaining images are superior views of the skull and brain on different dates to show the progression of the conditon. In the first, subdural hematomas and bilateral cephalohematomas are present. In the second image, from a later date, scalp swelling, hypoxic-ischemic injuries, and edematous brain tissue are shown.
