Popliteal Artery Occlusion with Collateral Blood Flow

This exhibit features two posterior images of the left leg from the mid-thigh down to the foot. In both images, the major arteries are visible beneath the skin. The first image depicts normal anatomy, and the major vessels will be labeled. Arrows represent the flow of blood through the arteries, with bigger arrows in the larger vessels. The second image shows the occlusion in the popliteal artery at about knee level, and the collateral vessels (especially the medial and lateral genicular arteries) enlarged. Arrowsagain represent the flow of blood through the arteries, and the enlarged collateral vessels will have bigger arrows in this image. An inset of a sagittal view of the occlusion will be included as well.
