This exhibit begins features one large sagittal (side cut-away) view of the torso from the heart down to the sacrum providing a clear view of the close proximity between the inferior vena cava and the spine. This sagittal view includes the various vertebral bodies, intervertebral discs, the anterior longitudinal ligament and the course of the inferior vena cava along the anterior aspect of the spine.
