ID: exh73842d
This series of illustrations depict the use of ultrasound to examine and determine the depth of a sessile polyp, whether it is a mucosal or intramuscular polyp. In this case a mucosal polyp is depicted. Removal of the polyp is safely achieved by injecting saline solution into the space between the polyp and the muscle creating a big pocket of this saline solution then, the polyp is encircled with a snare and excised from the base without affecting the muscle layers of the stomach.
