This stock medical exhibit illustrates an inferior alveolar nerve injury during a dental implant procedure. A lateral view of the skull is included as an orientation of the area of injury. An enlarged image of the mandible depicts the inferior alveolar nerve coursing underneath the teeth and in contact with the dental implant. Two cut sections of the mandible demonstrates the drilling of the hole in the mandible and placement of the implant. An intra-operative image of a gloved hand holding the drill is also included.
