This exhibit begins with one skeletal view of the right hip region illustrating the subtrochanteric fracture of the femur as seen in the post-accident x-rays. Also, the key steps of the intramedullary femoral fixation procedure are illustrated step by step. The first surgical image depicts the incision and debridement. The next images illustrate the removal of the intra-medullary nail and the locking screws. . The pre-operative illustration is based directly on the film. The actual film is included in the exhibit for comparison.
