Spinal Injuries with Surgical Repairs

ID: exh44267a
This medical exhibit uses six images to demonstrate an L1 burst fracture with surgical repair. The first image details the extent of the injury showing bone fragments of the vertebral body pressing on the spinal cord. Images two through six detail the surgical procedure performed. Post laminectomy, laminar hooks and pedicle screws are placed bilaterally on the spine. Fusion rods are shown in image five being affixed to the eye bolts. The final image shows an radiographic view of the postsurgical condition.
