Accurately depicts knee replacement surgery of an infected arthritic left knee joint with a total knee prosthesis. Surgery steps: A. Distal femur and proximal tibial joint surfaces are removed with a bone saw; B. Temporary spacer within the knee joint is inserted as a 'place holder' until the infection has healed and the knee is ready for a permanent prosthesis. A. Spacer is removed and joint surfaces are recut back to fresh bleeding bone; B. Permanent prosthetics components are placed into the knee joint.
