Traumatic Injuries to the Neck

ID: exh76245a
This medical exhibit features one large illustration depicting the mechanism injury involved in the bike accident. This image is from a slightly anterolateral perspective so as to include the pertinent anatomy. The cervical spine and surrounding soft tissues: Muscles and nerves are shown clearly beneath the skin. This view allows you to discuss the external injuries as well as the injuries to the cervical spine. The bike brake handle is shown clearly on its own and then arrows and a transparent blur are used to puncturing the skin and ultimately hitting the C7 vertebrae.
