Brachial Plexus Birth Injury - Right Shoulder Dystocia (Erb's Palsy)

ID: anim001
This 3D medical animation begins by showing a vaginal delivery from a cut-away view of the mother's pelvis. The contractions of the uterus push the baby through the birth canal. As the forceful uterine contractions continue, we see the infant's shoulder being trapped beneath the mother's pelvic bone (pubic symphysis) causing the nerves of the brachial plexus (highlighted for visibility) to be stretched and injured. This action can result in a type of arm paralysis (paralyzed arm) called Erb's palsy.rnrnThis animation may be purchased as is, or customized to fit your specific needs. The price for modifying this stock animation is considerably less than purchasing a custom animation, and the consultation for doing so is free.
