Tear of the ACL, PCL and Lateral Collateral Ligament with Reconstructive Surgery

This medical exhibit shows the surgical procedure needed after a severe injury to the knee including a tear of the ACL (anterior cruciate ligament), PCL (posterior cruciate ligament) and lateral collateral ligament. An image to the far left of the exhibit orients the viewer to the pre-operative condition of the knee. All injuries are noted with labels. Images to the right detail the surgical procedure performed to repair these tears. Images A, B and C detail the arthroscopy performed to remove ACL and PCL remnants, and tendon allografts are placed and secured. Image D shows the procedure to reconstruct the lateral collateral ligament.
