This medical exhibit begins with an image of a large skeletal anterior view of the left knee including the multiple ligamentous reconstructions in place from the previous reconstructive surgery. This image will clearly shows the degenerative changes, osteoarthritis and instability of the ligaments. Next, four steps of the total knee arthroplasty are shown including the preparation of the distal femur and proximal tibia to remove the defects of the articular surfaces, as well as the placement of a prosthesis components to complete the total knee replacement.
