Surgical Cholecytectomy with Bile Duct Injury

ID: exh73299
This exhibit features four highly simplified schematic views of the biliary anatomy allowing us to clearly compare the following conditions: 1. Normal anatomy including the gallbladder and various biliary ducts with each structure clearly labeled to provide an overall orientation. 2. Correct post-operative condition with distal cystic duct clipped and transected and gallbladder and proximal cystic duct removed. 3. Typical common bile duct injury with clip placed across the common bile duct just below the cystic duct with the gallbladder, entire cystic duct and a small portion of the common bile duct removed. 4. Actual post-operative condition in this case with the proximal cystic duct clipped and transected up near the gallbladder and the common bile duct and common hepatic duct both transected with a large portion of the duct removed from the bifurcation of the hepatic ducts all the way down to the cystic duct.
