Second Spine Surgery: Surgical Decompression and Stabilization of Failed Fusion Hardware

This exhibit shows new fractures of the left superior body of L1, pedicle screw fractures at L1, displaced fracture of the left facet joint at T12 with a fragment protruding into the left lateral recess and loose pedicle screws at T12 and L1. The surgical repair here shows: removal of the pedicle screws from L1, placement of additional pedicle screws on L2 and L3, decortication of bone and use of sponge strips mixed with allograft. Now the bone fusion and hardware construct is from T10 to L3.
