Severely Comminuted Fracture of the Lower Leg and Subsequent Condition

This medical exhibit features three detailed illustrations of the lower left leg depicting the Post - Accident condition, Post- Operative Condition and the Resulting Condition. These illustrations are based on the films. The post-accident condition depicts the comminuted fracture of the mid and distal third of the tibia and the comminuted distal fibular fracture. The soft tissues are included in this image and it is very clear that this fracture caused a great deal of soft tissue damage. The post-operative condition is based on a film study and shows the internal fixation hardware in place. The subsequent condition is based on the latest film study available The internal fixation hardware is shown in place and the fractures will be healed. The irregularity of the bone is the focus of this illustration. The development of arthritis is indicated.
